Hey All...looks like things are shapin' up to be a full blown bash.....I would expect nothing less for a Jerry Garcia B-Day tribute and a celebration of 8yrs. of Rochestergroove. As you all know Mnt. Valley will be doing sound and Groovin lumens will be doing the lightshow.....and as you also all know it will be Sat. Aug 1st, 2009 at the Drs. Inn.....and you know it will secure our beloved website for the next few years.
The Drs. Inn is making this an indoor/outdoor party, but also are working towards a smoking permit and a cigar sampling from Moe's, as well as "possibly" Brewcrafters tasting area and Absinthe testing. $2 shots/$2 drafts all day with picinic style food on the cheap and a vendor area in the lot( so any vendors out there are welcome to set up, no food/consumables please). Show starts at 2PM, gates open at noon......the band list in order of appearance as it stands now is:
Bob Squad Slide in Sideways Electric Zoo Cactus Soul Kindred Groove Mudruum Million Dollar Trailers The Family Dawgs
Hoping for printable flyers soon and some press coverage. Stay tuned and we'll see all you lurkers out there, along with all you beautiful RG members.
Can we sticky this??

I was wondering the same thing. Trying to figure out what equipment my Drummer and Bassist for the Zoo will need to bring...

What we're hoping is Bob would be so kind as to leave his bass rig there for the duration since he's playing first and last. If any of the dawgs might be able to confirm that with him this w-end that'd be great as he's a little hard to contact. As far as drums go, I'm hoping Raydar could let others use his kit as he's playing last too,if thats cool with him, however he can't make it till the Cactus Soul set, so the first few bands would need their gear.
Raydar, mountain Valley, Bob, Benz.....any input or ideas?

OK...here are the times for the line-up which is solid throughout: Dr. Drumz 2:00ish-2:45ish- (Dr. Drumz gets things rollin' with a percussion extravaganza) The Bob Squad 3:00ish-4:15ish- (Beautifully interpreted songs you don't hear everyday from artists like wilco, joni mitchell and Jerry Garcia to name a few). Electric Zoo 4:45ish-6:00- (delivers healthy dose of improvisational jamming and enjoys performing a mix of originals and covers by artists such as Steely Dan and the Grateful Dead.) Cactus Soul 6:10ish-7:00ish- (Music delivered with intense sincerity and raw energy from veteran Rochester musicians loaded with talent and great vibes.) Kindred Groove 7:30ish-9:00 debut- (a melting pot of multiple styles, categorization of their sound is difficult at best. At their core they are a rock band: blending the emotion and grit of blues with the improvisational element of jazz and the edge of hard rock. Their influences range from bands like Cream, The Allman Brothers and Gov't Mule to Rush, Steely Dan and Kings X.) Mudruum 9:15-10:30- (A special night of Mudruum music in one of Jerry Garcia's favorite formats....acoustic!! I hear the Rev might sit in for this one of a kind set with Mudruum which I'm sure will include classic covers of Sublime, Pink Floyd and Jerry.) The Million Dollar Trailers 11:00-12:00- (On a mission to alter the musical landscape with their own version of deep fried and double wide blues-rock. This band blends their own original music with inspired versions of songs pulled from across the full spectrum of music. The band’s roots are as diverse as its sound and prides itself in the scars and stains acquired across the decades, on the stages, and in the bars and nightclubs of the area. They can work a room into a frenzy with their high flying soloing or by taking a song and straight out rocking.) The Family Dawgz 12:30-2:00- (Are magic, the kind you can not create but just IS, the left over Love from the GD scene is there in our hearts and minds......you can see the energy being created by the music and the people dancing, grooving, skakin it in celebration of the Grateful Dead’s music. A fitting way to end this night, lets let Jerry feel the love and appreciation) Remember vendors are welcome so come bring your blanket and display your wares in the lot! (no food/drink) Liscenced Massage Therapist will have her chair there to soothe your achin' dancin' bones. $2 Shots/ $2 Drafts all day We'll C U There ![joint [smilie=joint.gif]](http://www.rochestergroove.com/images/smilies/joint.gif)

I wish you all luck.
Going to be away for the weekend but I would be there otherwise.
